shellac, old switch, more shelves

waiting for the poly

before/after

an old switch that Grampa had Amy send me.  it's from Dering Lodge (my grandparents' previous summer home that would have turned 100 this year)

it doesn't work, but I'd like to install it as a conversation piece.  any suggestions?

  1. You should hang it from a mobile along with other nostalgic memorabilia and put it in the baby's room.

  2. Doesn't every home need a switch that doesn't actually do anything? Maybe it should be installed in the dining room and used to call the butler to bring in the next course.

  3. It is a gem and needs to be hung like a piece of art. So, mount it on a wall next to a door so that it appears as if it still works.

  4. You also need like a butler's pull cord if you're installing things that don't don't do anything.
